Injections at Idaho Eyelid and Facial Plastic Surgery
Our patients can smooth away frustrating fine lines and wrinkles with the help of Botox and Dysport in the comfort of our clinic. These simple injectables can restore a more youthful look without requiring any surgery or downtime, making them very convenient. We like to emphasize that our injections are performed by physicians or by nurses after delegation by one of the physicians. All patients are seen first by the doctors (as required by the state medical board) to establish the treatment plan for Botox/Dysport as well as fillers. This process helps us deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients, as our injectors have a thorough knowledge of facial anatomy and vasculature.
Which Wrinkles Can Botox and Dysport Treat?
These injectable anti-aging treatments can smooth away several fine wrinkles. Botox/Dysport can treat crow’s feet around the eyes, glabellar lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines, chin wrinkles (peau d’orange chin), bunny lines on the nose, and lipstick lines around the lips.
Additionally, these products can treat harsh platysmal neck bands and help to contour an overly square jaw. They are also often used to address excess sweating in areas like the armpits (hyperhidrosis) and migraine headaches.
Botox and Dysport cannot effectively treat moderate or harsh midface wrinkles or volume loss. Patients often find injectable dermal fillers to be the best solution to these aging issues. We offer several fillers, including Juvederm and Restylane.
How Do They Work?
Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators, meaning they affect nerve signals. Certain wrinkles are the result of overworked facial muscles, which perform the same actions over and over again. These muscles crease the overlying skin, forming wrinkles.
When Botox/Dysport is injected, the nerve signals to the muscles are blocked. This allows the overworked muscles to relax back into an at-rest position, letting the skin become smooth again.
Your Consultation
During your consultation, you will talk about your aesthetic goals, highlighting the wrinkles that you would like to address. These wrinkles will be examined, along with your overall facial structure. You will also go over your complete medical history, including allergies, past procedures, and current medications.
If Botox or Dysport is right for you, the procedure will be explained in detail, and you will be able to ask clarifying questions. Any aftercare steps will also be discussed.
The Injection Process
A Botox or Dysport injection session usually only takes less than 20 minutes to perform. At the start of the session, the targeted areas will be marked as a guide for the injector.
In some cases, a topical or local anesthetic may be administered to numb the region, ensuring a comfortable treatment session. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, the units of Botox will be delivered via precise injections.
After Your Treatment
After Botox/Dysport has been administered, patients can go back to regular activities immediately without recovery time or downtime. Many patients get their injections during their lunch break and then return to work.
Minor redness, swelling, or bruising may be present at the injection site for a short time. Avoid heavy sun exposure to ensure that these issues clear up quickly.
The results of the procedure can be enjoyed for around three to four months. After this, maintenance treatments will be needed to preserve the results. Additional treatments can provide improved benefits over time.
How Much Do Botox and Dysport Cost?
Typically, the main determining factor of Botox or Dysport’s price is the number of units needed. Additionally, the number of areas being treated can affect the overall cost.

Featured Testimonials
“My dermatologist in Boise recommended Dr. Boerner at Idaho Eyelid and Facial Plastic Surgery years ago. At first, I went to Dr. Boerner for migraine control through Botox. As time passed we started using Botox for wrinkle prevention and fillers to replace lost volume. Frankly, I would not go to anyone else in Boise for cosmetic procedures.
“Dr. Boerner consistently applies a subtle approach and is not one to overdo things. I am quite picky about my appearance, and never want to look like I’ve been to a plastic surgeon! I have sent lots of people to him. I am so happy with my results and give Idaho Eyelid and Facial Plastic Surgery five stars, both Dr. Boerner and the office staff. As a side note, I have had some issues with the office postponing appointments, a problem as I suffer from cluster migraines.”
